Hobart Sunset and Astro Photography Workshop

Hobart Sunset and Astro Photography Workshop
JOIN ME ON A PHOTO WORKSHOP!
Join me on a photography workshop where we’ll set off and capture sunset followed by astro photography. I’ll take you through my workflow and thought process while out in the field, you’ll be learning how to take more control with your camera out of the auto mode and into to some more advance techniques. You’ll learn how to effectively compose your photo, adjust your settings to suit the light of the scene and venture into long exposure photography.
Setting off in the evening (5:00pm) we’ll meet an hour and a half before sunset in the CBD where we’ll jump aboard the minibus and head to our first photography location, we’ll then head to our second location for the trip for some astro photography where we’ll shoot the night sky.
*This workshop is aimed at beginners to intermediate photographers who want to take more control of their camera, learn effective composition techniques, and most importantly have fun. These workshops usually last between 4-5 hours.
*2020 Dates to be confirmed soon*
THE BEST PLACE TO LEARN!
Forget the classroom, the field is the place to learn! That's why I've scouted the best locations around Hobart so you can learn hands on how to take effective landscape photographs.
Leaving in the evening we'll set off for sunset where you'll learn to take control of your camera and adjust the settings to suit the ever changing light and conditions during sunset.
Moving to more advance techniques we'll build upon the skills that you have learnt during sunset and start capturing some long exposure astrophotography, if we're lucky we might even get a chance to capture the Aurora Australis.
Frequently asked questions.
I’ve booked my spot, what happens next?
Thanks for booking! You’ll shortly receive an email confirming your booking. About a week before the workshop you’ll also receive a reminder email confirming extra information for the workshop e.g. where to meet, what to bring, what weather are we expecting.
What’s included?
Transport during the workshop.
Full tuition during the workshop.
What’s not included?
Food and beverages;
Camera gear;
Transport to and from the workshop meeting location.
What if it’s bad weather on the night?
Some of the best shots come from bad weather. We'll still be heading out rain, hail or shine so bring clothes appropriate for the weather on the day.
If the sky is cloudy and we cannot see the stars for astro photography, we will move onto long exposure night photography focusing on cityscapes and/or steel wool photography.
Where will we be meeting?
All of my workshops meet within the CBD where we'll board the van and head off to the morning's location. Don't worry, I'll send you an email a week before the workshop with the final info.
What locations will we be visiting around Hobart?
Each night’s locations can vary depending on weather, I don't usually travel any further than an hour out of the city.
How long will the workshop go for?
Each workshop is designed to run for approximately 5 hours.
What camera gear should I bring?
Ideally you should bring a camera that allows full manual control, this should be a DSLR or mirrorless camera, a tripod is highly recommended as we will be using this for the long exposure photography and it is extremely difficult without one.
I’ve booked my spot, when will I receive an order confirmation?
If you haven't received an order confirmation straight away don’t worry! You'll be receiving it within 24 hours from placing your order. Remember to double check your spam folder as it may be hiding there.
